About Us

Bhoomija Creations was founded in 2011 by architects Ar. Guruprasad Rane and Ar. Manasi Puliyappatta, brought together by a shared love for architecture and a curiosity to explore more meaningful and sustainable ways of building. What began with an interest in natural materials and alternative building practices gradually evolved into a practice rooted in the relationship between people, place and nature.

Based in rural Kerala, Bhoomija works across a range of projects, from homes and community spaces to public and institutional projects. Our architecture grows from an understanding of the site, climate, materials, local knowledge and the people who inhabit it. We believe sustainability is not an added layer to architecture, but a way of thinking, about using less, responding to what is already available, and creating spaces that remain relevant over time.

Over the years, our work has received recognition at national and international platforms. We have received Commendations twice in the UIA–UN-Habitat 2030 Award, which recognises architectural projects contributing to the objectives of the UN Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals.

At Bhoomija, we continue to explore how architecture can be more nature-inclusive, people-friendly and sensitive to its context, while remaining contemporary, practical and deeply rooted in its place.
